Deleting your Roosta account
Roosta is published by NovApps ApS. This page explains how to delete your Roosta account and everything stored against it.
Most people using Roosta have no account at all. An account is optional: the alarms, the missions, the streak and every setting live on your phone and work with no account, forever. An account exists only so that a new phone does not cost you the run you have been keeping. If you have never signed in, there is nothing to delete and nothing on this page applies to you.
Deleting your account from the app
This is the fastest route, and it takes effect immediately.
- Open Roosta and go to the Settings tab.
- Tap your email address at the top of the screen to open Profile.
- Tap Delete account.
- Roosta asks Delete your account? — tap Delete. The account is erased as you confirm.
Deleting your account by email
If you no longer have the app installed, or you cannot sign in, write to roosta@novapps.dev from the email address the account was created with, and ask us to delete it. We will confirm when it is done. We answer these within 30 days and usually far sooner.
We ask you to write from the account's own address because that is the only thing that proves the account is yours. If you cannot, tell us and we will find another way to check — we will not delete an account on the word of somebody who cannot show it is theirs.
What is deleted
Everything. Deleting the account removes the account record itself and every row attached to it, in one operation:
- Your email address and the sign-in itself, including the link to Google if you used Continue with Google.
- Your backed-up alarms — their times, days, labels, missions and sounds.
- Your backed-up mornings: which days you got up on and when.
- Your backed-up settings, including any reading passages you wrote yourself.
- The titles of any songs you chose as an alarm sound. The audio itself was never uploaded.
- The record of which version of these documents you accepted.
It is immediate and it cannot be undone. There is no grace period in which the account can be recovered, and no copy is kept for you to restore from later.
What is kept, and for how long
The app on your phone is not touched. Your alarms, your history and your streak stay exactly as they are and keep working — deleting the account deletes the backup, not the app. If you want the app's own data gone as well, uninstall Roosta or clear its storage in Android's settings; nothing on your phone is readable by us either way.
Your subscription is unaffected, because it is not ours to delete. It belongs to the Google account or Apple Account that bought it, and it is cancelled through that store. Deleting your Roosta account does not cancel, refund or change it.
No copy survives it. There is no archive, no soft-deleted row and no snapshot your data can outlive the deletion in. Nothing is held back for a grace period and there is nothing for us to restore you from afterwards, even if you ask us to. That is the reason the app asks you to confirm.
Server logs record that a request happened rather than what was in it, and are kept for a short period before they roll off.
Records we are required to keep. Where the law requires us to retain something — for example a record of a purchase for tax or accounting purposes — we keep only that record, for only as long as the law requires. Purchase records are held by Apple and Google as the merchants of record, not by us.
Nothing from the camera or the microphone
There is nothing to delete here, and that is by design. A photograph taken for a mission is checked on your phone and thrown away when the mission ends; speech read aloud is recognised on your phone and never recorded. Neither is ever uploaded, so neither is in your account and neither is on this list.
